A shared list or one list per person?

A shared list works well for gifts intended for the whole household: games, experiences to enjoy together or shared items. Give it your family's name and explain the shared wishes in the introductory note.

For individual gifts, create one list per person. The links are independent: a gift reserved on one child's list does not affect the others. The 'My lists' page brings together the lists created from your browser.

Agreeing before choosing

A few conversations beforehand avoid misunderstandings. A gift can be a suggestion without becoming an obligation. You can mention in your message that homemade creations, second-hand items and shared moments are welcome.

• Decide whether the adults also exchange gifts.
• Discuss budgets privately, with no obligation for an identical amount.
• Mention any constraints regarding space, transport or timing.
• Share the links in a single message so they are easy to find again.

How does reservation work?

A loved one opens the sharing link and chooses 'I'm giving this'. After confirmation, the gift is shown as reserved to other visitors. The choices stay hidden in the recipient's management area.

The reservation is neither an order nor a payment. The loved one then buys the gift from the shop of their choice. If they change their mind, they can cancel from the browser used to reserve, as long as cookies are kept. If the gift becomes unavailable, releasing the reservation allows someone else to find a solution.

Keeping the right keys

Two links play different roles. The sharing link is meant for the family and lets people view the wishes or make a reservation. The private management link lets you edit and delete the list. It must stay confidential.

Since no account or email address is required, there is no email recovery. Save your private link in your bookmarks or somewhere personal before switching browsers.

After the holidays, tidying up

You can remove wishes that are no longer needed or delete the whole list from the customisation menu. Deleting also removes the gifts and their reservations. Old sharing links will then no longer give access to the list.

To prepare for the next Christmas, start again from your current wishes. A short, up-to-date list is often more useful than a pile of items that no longer suit you.
